Villa location

Located in the residential area of El Santiscal, on the outskirts of Arcos which  has a commercial centre with a supermarket, a pharmacy, 2 bars, a nursery and other small shops. There is also a another supermarket nearby together with a primary school and medical centre. At the nearby  lake, there is a nautical club with canoeing, windsurfing etc and a small gymnasium. There is a separate sports and social club with tennis courts and a pool,  2 hotels, one of which is at the lakeside and has  a bar, restaurant and swimming pool which is open to the public. There is easy access to countryside walks, either around the lake or into the foothills of the Sierras. These facilities are all within a 5/10 minute walk from the villa and about  a 20 minute walk  or 5 minute drive from the centre of Arcos where there are bus links to Jerez, Seville, the coastal towns. There are  also purpose built cycle tracks in the area. The town of Arcos de la Frontera stands on a rocky outcrop high above the Guadalete river and is an unforgettable sight. It is one of the famous pueblos blancos of the area.   With its cobbled streets leading up the hillside to the famous sandstone castle where you can enjoy the  stunning views to the new town and fertile plains in the valley below.  You could be forgiven for thinking you have gone back 500 yeas in history.  Arcos de la Frontera has stood here since the Neolithic period and is one of the oldest towns in this part of Spain. It is renowned for its palaces built by the king and gifted to the local nobles during the medieval period. It is only 10 minutes by car from the bustling city of Jerez de la Frontera where the annual Moto GP and Horse Fair are held.
