We stayed just off the Plaza de Espana so discovered the garden at the Califa first day. Vera Cruz was closed I'm afraid, but we didn't starve in Vejer! The best meal we had while we were there was at El Campero in Barbate even if we did have to eat it standing up. Anyway we're now back home in what feels like a very cold UK. Despite Derek's bad feeling about the wind we had a wonderful week. We appreciate we were lucky with the weather at this time of year and we loved Cadiz and surrounds. We took the ferry over to El Puerto Santa Maria and also made trips to Sanlucar and Jerez, visited a few Bodegas and ate very well in each place. The apartment was perfect for us. We made very good use of the terrace (though I resisted the temptation to barbecue) and ate there most evenings. The fish in the market was just too good to pass up. We plan to spend more time in Spain from next year (when I retire) and we'll certainly want to come back to Cadiz. I hope when we do we'll be able to stay again in your lovely apartment.

We are back in Belgium after staying in your holiday town house in Lebrija. We had a wonderful time there and would like to thank you for this. We will recommend this apartment to our friends and family.

The house has been great and we would definitely recommend your service to anyone wanting to let long term. "I met Lesley and Derek of Cadizcasa when they first showed me round the property we bought in Spain and then I was told that they could help out with furnishings etc.- This was just what I needed. They have helped make the purchase in Spain stress free and everything they have done for me has been very good value. I have used them for everything, furnishings, electrics and building work. Lesley must have spent hours in the shops looking for the best value bedding and smaller items for the house. Photos have been emailed to me and different suggestions have been offered when I was not sure about anythying. Different price ranges have been offered so I could choose something in my budget. We have been extremely satisfied with the quality of workmanship and timeliness of completion with the variety of jobs Cadizcasa have undertaken for us - including plumbing work, electrical work, carpentry and tiling. Their response when we had a "weekend emergency" was first class! We would and do happily recommend their services.

Lesley and Derek at Cadizcasa have been invaluable in helping to set up and furnish our holiday home. Nothing is too much trouble and everything is accomplished with the minimum of fuss. They have the contacts and the know-how and are never further away than a quick email. We depend on them in getting things done.

Lesley and Derek at Cadizcasa have been looking after our house in Vejer since we completed on it in 2007. Not only are they extremely courteous and friendly but there is no end to their talents and capacity for problem solving!!! All we have need to do is email them with a request, no matter how ridiculousand it gets sorted out. This would include not only all the usual keyholding aspects but also completely organising from purchse to getting our lighting, heating, shelving, security and shopping for us pre arrival. Meeting up in Carrefour to help us (non Spanish speakers) purchasing beds, sorting out various bills at the townhall, purchasing small household items when we dont know where to get them!! In fact the only thing we havent persuaded them to do is babysit. In short they allow us to feel totally relaxed about being non resident knowing our house is in a safe and conscientious pair of hands, it is rather like having a good relative looking after the place.

On the fridge/freezer front, you have come up trumps again, it is perfect . We managed to get to Chiclana and got some sausages and bacon from the English butcher you recommended and they were great, will be certain to use again.

You always kindly switch everything on for us.When /If the gas needs replacing I find great difficulty with the boiler.Its because I am not used to it and would like to familiarise myself more. Thanks again for everything.

Thank you once again for all your help in finding our "Houses in the Sun".

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for a brilliant three days and to say how helpful you were. You went our of your way to show us some lovely sights and views and really made our trip worthwhile. It seemed like a holiday to us. Nothing was too much trouble for you and it really made the weekend for us.

Just a note to say how much we enjoyed our recent visit to Spain. We really appreciated the time you spend with us, showing us around the area.

It was one of the things a lot of people think about but never do, a place in the sun. After a lot of soul searching etc we decided to go for it and began to research Spanish property on the internet as a start of the process.

We put together a list of options/requirements that had to be met.

*It must be accessible from more than 1 airport with good roads.

*It must have a Train Station. (not everybody drives).

*Typically Spanish.

*Big enough with supermarkets, banks, shops, market, bars, restaurants etc

The list is endless, but we found a property that met all our criteria and booked an inspection trip with the company who were advertising the property.

This inspection trip with Lesley and Derek McEwan went very well and we decided to take this a step further. The next step was to look at the cost of purchase, what extras need to be added (IVA this is a purchase tax, NIE number, Solicitors fees, Bank Account, etc). The property was Off Plan (when will it be completed), stage payments (what percentage of purchase price and when), how do you transfer money, Spanish Mortgage. These are some of the questions you need to ask.

Then when I enquired how I go about the next steps of utilities, furnishing, solicitors, builders etc. I was told that Derek and Lesley at Cadizcasa can help.

I contacted Derek and Lesley and explained what I wanted and could they help me, I got a positive response and we decided that they would hand hold me through the process.

The first step was to look for a solicitor to handle the process and Derek and Lesley were able to recommend a couple so we had a choice and decided on a company called DN Law. This company met all our requirements, our solicitor, Vanessa Nacher was English speaking, they gave us an up front estimate of costs for the purchase of our house, this went smoothly, there were no surprises and the bill was as per estimate.

The next step was to get the house habitable and this was where Derek and Lesley were invaluable.

The house was completed but, without a kitchen (This is normal in Off Plan builds). This was good news as we could have the kitchen and appliances we wanted.. Electric Oven, Gas Hob, American Fridge, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Microwave etc, what style units, worktops and was able to send photos of our requirements. We were given a range of prices and goods so we could pick what we wanted to our specification and budget, they even got the American Fridge in the sale with a discount that they passed on to us.

The next thing was Air Conditioning (be careful with this as when they advertise pre installed Air-Con, this means that all the ducting and grills are in place but you need to purchase the actual A/C unit). Yet again we were given a list of prices and specifications and a cost to install. Finally, was the last of the big things, the boiler. This again met our requirements and was fitted to a high standard. These were the 3 big items and our expectations were exceeded.

General furnishing came next and the list was endless:- sofas, dining table and chairs sideboard, chests of drawers, beds, garden furniture, barbeque, lighting, TV (another deal with a 200 euro saving in the sales), DVD, Freeview etc. Yet again, with modern technology we were able to get exactly what we wanted with price options to meet our budget.

Finally came all the pots and pans, towels, cutlery, bed linen, kettle, toaster, kitchen utensils, bathroom fitments etc the list seemed endless, but as always this was all delivered in a timely manner as everything was completed for my first visit to my new house.

I cannot thank Derek and Lesley enough for the service they offered to make the experience of buying my property in Spain an enjoyable one, their attention to detail and advice was second to none. I would have no hesitation in recommending their services.
