On the doorstep you will find a bakery, internet cafe, gym, general store and fruit merchant and in the main street which you can see from the apartment there are fishmongers, butchers, banks and a supermarket not to mention an excellent selection of bars, cafes and restaurants.  Being the penthouse this apartment has an air of seclusion and once you are on the terrace you forget where you are.

Vejer is an ancient village at the top of a 1,000ft hill.  It has been a settlement since the time sof the Phoenicians and was inhabited by the Romans and later by the Moors.  It is this last r¡group who left much of the famous architecture Vejer is so well known for.  They left the city wall with its crenelated walls which are still in excellent condition, they left the stone gateways where people would have to que up to be admitted or rejected from the village and most importantly they left many beautiful open space with fountains where little tapas bars and cafes now offer outdoor seating.  Vejer is a small town where you can walk from one side to the other in about 15 minutes.  It not only offers incredible historical buildings in the form of the castle, the Jewish Quarter and the churches but a real hub of activity where the locals go about their daily business as they have for centuries.  The fresh produce from the fields below is sold in the local market daily and the fish from the sea which is only 10 minutes by car is proudly displayed on the fishmongers stalls.  Everyone in Vejer takes pride in their town and white washed buildings are kept pristine with their obligatory pots of geraniums.  It is no wonder this is the most photographed "pueblo blanco" in Andalucia.  It is also one of the friendliest and within days you will get to know the locals and feel part of the town.
