SCOTS DONATE TO HELP KIMBA ANIMAL RESCUE CENTRE

Staff at The Royal Bank, South Gyle,  Edinburgh and the Housing Department of Edinburgh City Council have donated generously to help KIMBA the Costa de la Luz animal rescue and rehoming centre.

Joyce Waterstone who organised the fund raising travelled out to Spain to present the sum of 300 euros to Anna one of the voluntary centre workers at KIMBA.

The funds will be used to help replace the dry dog food store which was burgled and its contents stolen last month, leaving the charity organisation in a terrible situation with no food for the animals over the winter months.

Joyce said “I was contacted by Lesley McEwan at Cadizcasa who I have known for many years.  she told me about the problem KIMBA was facing after the burglary and being an animal lover I felt I had to do something so I got on the email to a few friends.

I was totally amazed when the donations started flowing in. I am really glad we were able to help and I had a lovely day at the centre with the dogs.  I hope people will continue to donate through the button on the Cadizcasa website to help the dogs and cats at KIMBA”.
