KIMBA the dog refuge and re homing centre on the outskirts of Chiclana had their dog food store broken into on 24 September.  Their whole stock of dry dog food which had been collected by the charity to feed the dogs over the winter months was stolen.  Our Costa de la Luz radio station “Radio Baywatch” immediately put out an appeal as part of their news updates.

Lesley McEwan, Managing Director of Cadiz Casa takes up the story.  Lesley said ‘I was listening to Radio Baywatch  on line while doing some office work on Saturday morning and I heard the presenter making an appeal for dried dog food to be donated to KIMBA dog refuge to help them out.  She said I just thought I would drop an email to all our clients both here and in the UK to see if anyone would like to help.  I was delighted when minutes later the pledges started rolling in.  By Sunday morning we had 500 kilos pledged and by Monday morning we had 780 kilos.  By the end of Monday we had 920 kilos bought and paid for.  I am astounded at the generosity of our clients and would like to thank them very much for responding so generously and so quickly to this appeal.  If it had not been for Radio Baywatch and their local news updates I would never have known about the plight of KIMBA.
