Apartment location

Barrio Populo is the oldest surviving part of the old town centre of Cadiz, reputedly the oldest town in western Europe.  It is a warren of medieval type streets and is blessed with numerous tapas bars and restaurants.  It is within easy walking distance of all of the old towns amenities and the nearest beach is about 5 minutes walk, as are the bus and train stations.  The City of Cadiz was home to Julius Caesar, the birth place of Hannibal and reputedly the oldest city in Europe.  Cadiz has much to be proud of.   Originally founded by the Phoenicians, then inhabited by the Romans and Moors its rich history is visible in the architecture of its many historic buildings and in the faces of its people. A lively and colourful city with more fiestas than most, its carnivals and parades provide a vibrant atmosphere for modern day visitors and are renowned throughout Spain as being amongst the best on offer.
